Week 1--Introduction
Please tell me what you are hoping to go into career-wise one day (obviously not set in stone) and why you're interested in this. Not only am I curious and anxious to learn about you, but I'm also wanting to get a brief idea into your writing; therefore, make sure to use complete sentences and correct punctuation and spelling.

I graduated high school with the intent of becoming a physical therapist and hoped to work with injured athletes. However, midway through my sophomore year, I discovered upper level math and I did not mesh. Brainstorming possible careers that would still allow myself to work with athletes, I thought of teaching. As per the subject? I enjoyed English and the freedoms it allowed me through reading and writing. I'll be honest though, for the first 4 years of teaching, I thought about possibilities of a different career; however, I really settled in here at Gardner and absolutely love the students and teachers with whom I work. At this point, I'm currently finishing my Masters in Administration with a desire to move into an assistant principalship in the near future. Who knows though, I may not be able to leave the classroom or will desire to come back due to missing my students. My hope is that even in an administrative position, I'll still have opportunities to work with students on a daily basis.

Well i figured i should probably reply to this before i forgot. As of now I am not sure what i really want to do as an occupation but i have thought about going into architecture. In the eighth grade I had a family consumer science class and one of our projects was two draw out blue print for a home. We had to right out all the dimensions and draw in the windows and make it realistic. This is what first caught my interest in this field. If this is what i decide to do i have though of attending JCCC for a year or two to get all my normal classes out of the way and then completing my architectural classes at K-State. I've Always wanted to be a Wildcat!

I used to believe that I had a doomed future because I have yet to nail down exactly what I want my career to be, but I now know that I have ample time to make my decision. Still, I do have a few ideas. Writing fiction novels with the wit, grace, and excitement of my favorite authors is my dream, but that (along with movie script writing) might have to be the soda on the side of a more practical profession, such as being an adolescent psychiatrist. I want a job that guarantees never a dull moment, and I know that the insane teenage mind would keep me holding on for dear life.

One day, after high school, I plan on mocing to Los Angeles, California to attend Otis College of Art and Design while taking dance classes at the EDGE Performing Arts Center. I hope to one day become an art teacher at a high school or college, a professional dancer or a professional artist. I love art and dancing because they are both subjects in which I excel in, I can focus on and are ways to express myself.

Kayla Grossnickle - When I graduate high school, and, eventually, college, I intend to have with me majors in Criminal Justice and Psychology. After that I might look into attending a police academy, or maybe doing that for college. I want to be a cop who works specifically in helping to stop human trafficking, if such a type of law enforcement exists. Apparently this job has a higher death risk than some, but that doesn't bother me overly much.I might eventually get married, if I don't die young. If I got married, I would still hope to continue my career.
I will be attending college with the intentions of becoming a clinical psychologist. I would like to pursue this career because it is a very rewarding job, not only for me, but to my clients as well. I get the oppurtunity to help many people overcome major and minor problems that they may have, and talk to people with mental illnesses. I also learn so much about many different disorders from acute stress disorders to suicidal teens. Being a psychologist, i could help save a life.

When I graduate high school I want to become a physical therapist so I can help people. After I suffered my stroke I had to go through a year of physical and occupational therapy. As I went through this I saw, from the therapists, the joy that came from helping people, and realized that this is something I want to do with my life. I also observed how the patients become much like family, and how they are accepted as the person they really are.

I am planning on attending either KU or K-Stare to study Architectural Engineering. My dream is to become and Architect and build airports. My father went to school to do about the same profession. So he got me interested first, then our high school has a great engineering and architectural program to add on to it. (plus the money is great, amounting to the perfect life after school for me)

Currently, there are a lot of subjects and activities I enjoy, like History. However, some of these interest including history I really do not see an applicable job other than teaching, which I do not think I wold enjoy. So I started to brainstorm and came up with some activities I enjoy and tried to draw ideas for jobs from them. NEDC got me to start thinking about engineering. Just Engineering sounded bland, what kind of Engineer could I be. I thought about how cool it would be to be someone who helps solve the engery crisis through biological means. That is when a Bio-mechanical Engineer sounded like a good idea.

I have a desire to go into Performing Arts of some kind, preferably theatre, or more specifically, musical theatre. Besides appealing to my show-offy nature, I enjoy the freedom I achieve through theatre. The ability to pull out of my own life, if only for a few hours, and inhabit someone else's identity, is an amazing experience. Besides that, I just have fun performing. Any career that I enjoy doing day after day is always better, even if it doesn't pay as much.

As of now I am planning to get a career as an accountant or some other job relating to numbers and figures. I have always been pretty good with numbers so I feel like it would be a good career for me to get into. I am trying to learn as much math as I can to open up more possibilities in the business world. Plus accountants can make a lot of money.
Kelly Schadegg
One day I would really like to go into a medical career. I am most interested in psychology so I would love to pursue that. I think I would like psychology because I'm very much into science and I love talking to people. The way our minds act and work is really fascinating to me. Psychology just seems right up my alley and I think I would really work hard at it, but most importantly, love doing it.
Hannah Stirnaman
Block 7
As a very indecisive person, I have often contemplated what type of career I would be happiest pursuing past college. Because I have such a variety in interests, it is even harder to choose on profession I can see myself doing. Acting used to be my dream job. However, stage fright and performing in front of people does not really mesh well together. I then used to think about becoming an author. I love to read, so that should be perfect right? Except I don't really have a passion for writing, which is one thing I feel is needed in a career. Honestly, I have no idea what I want to do post college. There are certain requirements I am looking for in a job. For example, I want to be able to have a family, I want to be able to travel, and most of all, I want to love what I do. As for a specific job, I haven't quite narrowed it down yet.
Well, like a lot of people I want to graduate high school and go to a university to get a degree. Although I know I want a college degree, I don't know what I want to get it for yet. Nothing really pops out when I think about my career choices. I do know I want to work with people. I also want a job that isn't the same everyday. Part of me thinks being a teacher would be fun, so I might do that.
Kayla Duran, Block 2
Currently in my life, I have no real ideas of what I want to pursue as a career. Nothing is appealing, unless I get to sit at home and make a million dollars. I've yet to make any sort of decision that will affect my career path in life.
Hopefully, within my high school career, I will be able to decide on some profession that I find worthwhile.
Kelsey Kreiser

Well, I am very analytical thinker and I love to write and speak. So, for me journalism is something I've really considered as something that could potentially be a career that I excel in. However, it seems that this profession would only be useful if I were to be on staff at some magazine or newspaper, etc. And I feel that it is highly unlikely to actually become of staff somewhere. (Almost like a once in a lifetime chance) At the moment I've been looking into psychology and within criminal justice, as well as law, advertising and even teaching. All in all I'm just looking forward to having a career that will be life long and rewarding. Something that will showcase my talent and something I will find comfort in. Furthermore, something that allow me to release creative energy and allow a reasonable amount of freetime. My quest to find my dream job, more or less, has not led me to any particular stopping point but, I do hope to find one soon!
Aubree Smethers - Block 1
physical therapy is a pretty interesting job. You meet all kinds of cool people and nurse them back to health. As for me, my dream job would be a studio musician. You preform and record music with different bands, but stresses of touring are not applied since you just record for CDs. I want to get a music major at KU so I can hopefully make the dream a reality. Professional golf would also be one. I have shot a 79 on 18 holes and i can only hope to get better from there. Josh. peace homies
I hope to graduate college with a major in some type of mathmatics and a minor in physics. I would like to become an actuary someday simply because math is my best subject and it's also interesting. This could be problematic however because I don't want to work at a desk all day.

For about three years now, I have thought about going to cosmetology school right out of highschool. My dream was always to be like my mom, who cuts hair and does nails. I always thought that would be a fun job because you get to talk to, and deal with people all day. After being in Mrs. Johnson's science classes, my future career idea has changed. I love science, and learning about the human body. Someday, I would like to participate in the KU Medical program; and I would liek to be a doctor. I would still get to work with people, and talk to people, but I would be able to help them in a different way.
Hillary Simpson Block 1
When I grow up I think I was to open up my own bed and breakfast or become something to do with a magazine. I like writing so I might try to get my own column in a fashion magazine and if not that then I want to work backstage in fashion shows and take inventory on the clothes and make sure the models look okay before walking the runway. If something in the fashion world does not work out for me, then I would love to open up my own little inn. I want to do this becuase I would love to have that control over something that is all just me. I would get to decorate it and change it as much as I want and most of all I would be making people happy in a little cozy place. If I was able to go down this path I would want my location to be somewhere cold like Alaska or Colorado.

Right now im planning to graduate high school and go to college. after college i would like to do something with science because thats my favorite subject in school. I would probrably like to work as a private investigator.

Everyone has a big dream of theirs and mine is to be a model. I know that this is not a very possible dream so I have realities. I have many ideas of what I could possibly go into. I have thought of becoming a nurse, a chef, a counselor or psychiatrist, a lawyer, and finally I have thought about going into forensics. Being a CSI sounds quite interesting. So really overall I have no idea what I'm going to go into. I may not even do any of these. I am just going wherever my life takes me.

My plans for life after high school are pretty simple. I want to attend Emporia University and get a Teaching Degree. I actually want to be an English teacher (I'm not just sucking up, its really true.) I will probably end up teaching Middle School with the way things are looking now, but they are changing all the time!
~Michelle Gardner, Block 2
I am not really sure what I want to do with my life. This to me is really problematic due to my wide set of interests. For my college career I am still wondering about what I would like to major in, whether it would be History, Economics, or something else. Although, becoming a lawyer has always peaked my interests, so for now lets just fantasize on the idea of Eddie growing up and becoming a lawyer.

Even though i am only a junior I have already planned out my whole future after highschool. After I graduate I am moving to Virginia and I'm going to live there for 6 months to a year before I start college at the Art Institute of Alderidge Virginia to study audio production. I'm going to wait before i start college because I am cheap and dont want to pay for out of state tuition and an art school, too expinsive. After I graduate AI I am moving to New York and, hopefully, getting a job at Warner Bros and Reprise Records where I either want help either make the records or go out and find bands to sign. Music is my passion and I can't wait to help share it with the world.
Kiley Ulses, Block 1
When I was a little kid I always wanted to be a ballerina, however I am not that good at ballet. So I have chosen to move on. Well I have started to try and narrow down what I want to do with the rest of my life after high school. I have always wanted to be a photographer, however my parents do not want that for me. My next choice was to be a lawyer and I am thinking very hard about that one because it will take up most of my time and I will have to study very hard. I really want to do photography because I take pictures for all of my friends and my aunts facebook and they absolutely adore them. I also want to be a lawyer because I will be able to make money that I could afford to have a family, which is what I want when I get out of college. Right now I am in the middle of a photographer and a lawyer and I hope one day soon I will find out which one makes me happier and I will do that as my career for as long as I like.

I wanted to be a jedi since i was really young, but at age 15 my parents told me that star wars, santa, the easter bunny, and the tooth fairy werent real. Thus ending my dearest hopes and dreams.
Enter 2007. I started to develop a longing to be a doctor. I see te doctoral profession as the greatest possible human challenge. If you think about it, doctors are predestined to fail due to the fact that eventually, everyone dies. So basically, in my future career, I hope that i can go to work everyday knowing that I will fail to keep someone alive forever, but still have satisfaction that I helped them live to the good life and fight the good fight.

Im currnetly enrolled in GEHS as a junior which you obviously know, I enjoy participating in both soccer and Deca while attending GEHS. After I finish my high school career I plan on attending The Air Force Academy and serving appromiately six to eight years of my life in the Air Force. While enrolled in the academy Im interested in finding a field that involves math majorily and some kind of chemistry, to me something such as a biochemical engineer sounds very enticing but that is in the future and not the present so Ill just have to see what happens in the mean time.

As of my Freshman year I already knew what I wanted to achieve in College which is a Bachelors Degree in Computer Graphics and Design. With this I will be able to maybe produce video games or just work as my own company editing photos or making ads. I want to be in this career field because I am fascinated by Computer Technology and love to make websites and little animations when i have spare time. I want to have a career that I will enjoy and so far I have not gotten sick of learning html techniques or playing around on photoshop.
Brenda Saphangthong Block 1

When I graduate high school I plan to go to college for an architectural career of some kind. I really enjoy the creativity and the challenging mathematics that go with the designing.
Chris Hohman
Block 8
I plan on going to college, but I have no idea what I will major in. I love to sing and act, but I don't know if I would like to go into either, or both, of those professions. I want to find something that I will enjoy every day, and that will help other people in some way.
When I graduate, I'm hoping to go to the University of Texas on a track scholarship. In 2012, I hope to qualify for the Olympic trials and if i'm good enough make it to the Olympics for that year. My dream and only dream is to run for our country and hopefully I'll be able to someday.

Aha! Found it! Wow I'm late. Anywho, my plans for the future include graduating college, getting a degree, yada yada. I don't really have a long term plan as of yet, but I do have interests in politics and psychology.
I enjoyed reading the massive amounts of other posts here as well.
